EC Tucker, Ph.D.
Dr. Tucker has been an educator for more than 25 years. She earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Louisville. She has taught students from primary to college level including teaching gifted and talented students as well as professional development courses. She has been a faculty member at two different community colleges and a state university and has served in a variety of administrative, coaching, and sponsorship positions.

As an award winning educator, Dr. Tucker has served in numerous capacities in professional organizations at the county, state and national levels. She is a past president of Kentucky Council of Teachers of English/Language Arts, director of the Purchase Area Writing Project, member of National Council of Teachers of English Standards Committee and a regional representative on the Kentucky State Board of Education. Tucker has served as a judge of writing and speech competitions at the regional, state, and national levels. She is a features writer for the Journal-Enterprise newspaper in Providence, KY, which serves all of Webster County. She has numerous publication credits including English Journal, encounter, Uncovering Curriculum, local newspapers, literary publications, and educational journals.
An accomplished screenwriter and actor, Tucker has co-written two movie scripts; Colors of Emily and The Reins Maker; with acting credits in both movies as well as an additional acting credit in Restoration of Hope. Tucker is active in her church and has been a music director, youth director, missions director, and a lay missionary to Kentucky and Russia. She also enjoys success as an artist. She continues to be involved in various professional and civic organizations.
Her current writing projects include a young adult fiction novel: The Legend of the Blue Dragon, a series of children’s books, a book of essays, and a book of poetry. She makes the occasional post to her Facebook page: Southern Rural Matters. She is available as a speaker and consultant in the areas of rural values, rural education, and women of the rural south.
Dr. Tucker and her husband live in Western Kentucky where they manage extensive farm holdings spread over two counties. She has two daughters, and six grandchildren.
